We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time or part-time Paediatric Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at the Lizard Centre Sydney.

Lizard’s Children Centre, a wholly owned subsidiary of AAA Nextt Group Pty. Ltd. is one of Australia’s leading providers of evidence-based behaviour intervention for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental delays.  

Who are we looking for? Someone who can 

  • Provide speech pathology assessment and intervention services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other related developmental disorders in an early intervention setting 
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including psychologists, behaviour analysts and behaviour therapists 
  • Provide training to other staff in communication techniques including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods, language strategies and language goals 
  • Provide clinical intervention strategies and consultancy services to team members within the centre and nationally via Skype 
  • Provide training workshops for parents and family members to promote communication development 
  • Seek and engage in professional development activities to develop knowledge and skills 

To be the successful applicant you will have 

  • A Master's degree in Speech Pathology 
  • Membership of Speech Pathology Australia (or eligibility to become a member) 
  • Clinical experience (minimum 2 years) in assessment and intervention of a paediatric caseload with clients aged 0-17 years, preferably with a focus on early intervention (0-6 years). 
  • Clinical experience working within the disability sector with children with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder 
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse clients and their families 
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • The ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • An attitude of openness and willingness to learn and grow 
  • Resilience – this highly rewarding role can be challenging too. 

It would also be advantageous if the successful applicant had: 

  • An understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and its role in the treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder 
  • PROMPT training
  • SOS feeding training
