We are looking for a support worker with experience in Intellectual Disability and Autism to support our participant in Mount Evelyn.

The Role:

Nextt has exciting opportunities for Support Workers with extensive knowledge in  Autism and Intellectual Disability to support our NDIS participant in Mount Evelyn. There is an emphasis on Skill and Capacity Building to encourage independence and confidence. 

Shifts include;

  • Skills of daily living such as self care activities and developing safe community engagement activities
  • 1:1  Community assess to provide assistance to be able to access community in a safe and positive manner
  • Meal assistance, medication prompting & assistance
  • Follow restrictive practices
  • Drive house bus is a MUST

The participant group includes all ages, diverse culture, CALD background, LGBTIQ+, diverse genders and circumstances so new workers can grow and learn. The hours of work vary (minimum 2 hours) and include weekday shifts, evening and weekend shifts. Penalty rates apply on weekends, Public Holidays, after 8pm and  after 12 pm. This is an opportunity to work with other professionals, learn and advance your career.


Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health/Disability/Community Services or above with minimum of 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, WWC, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Valid Full drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Knowledge in Complex Autism, Intellectual Disability, use of complex behaviour support plans and restrictive practices, experience working with non-verbal participants with challenging behaviours and confidence in following strict preventive strategies
  • Mobile phone with internet access
  • The right to work in Australia and able to provide 100 points of ID
