The Role:

Nextt has exciting opportunities for Support Workers with extensive knowledge in  Schizophrenia, ABI, Epilepsy, depression and other mental health issues across various Northern, North Eastern and Inner suburbs in Melbourne including:

  • North Melbourne
  • Craigieburn
  • Roxburgh Park
  • Greenvale
  • Broadmeadows
  • Pascoe Vale South
  • Preston
  • Montmorency
  • Fawkner
  • Glenroy
  • Fitzroy North

There is an emphasis on Skill and Capacity Building to encourage independence and confidence. As a support worker, you will

  • Assist participants with skills of developing community activities
  • Provide support with trauma, anxiety and build confidence in community & social engagement
  • 1:1  and 2:1 Community assess to provide experiences to improve social skills and confidence
  • Ensure all duties and tasks are completed in accordance with the support plan
  • Ensure all incidents and hazards are reported in timely manner

Collaboration and a creative approach are encouraged so that participants reach their goals and workers have the opportunity to contribute to the development of programs.. The participant group includes all ages, diverse culture, CALD background, LGBTIQ+, diverse genders and circumstances so new workers can grow and learn. The hours of work vary (minimum 2 hours) and include weekday shifts, evening and weekend shifts. Penalty rates apply on weekends, Public Holidays, after 8pm and  after 12 pm. This is an opportunity to work with other professionals, learn and advance your career.


Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of Cert IV in Mental Health/Disability/Community Services or above with minimum of 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Knowledge in Complex Mental Health, Social anxiety, Mood affective disorders, Schizophrenia, Challenging physical and verbal aggression & behaviours, Trauma, Paranoia Depression and other Mental Health issues
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and Valid Full drivers licence and reliable transport
  • Passion and commitment to provide services for those with a disability or mental illness
  • Mobile phone with internet access
  • The right to work in Australia
  • Able to provide 100 points of ID
  •        Hourly Payrate at Schedule B Level 2.1
