We are looking for Disability Support Workers experienced in working with clients with spinal cord injuries and other complex high physical needs based in Berry/Norwa for an ASAP start!

THE ROLE 

We are looking for Disability Support Workers experienced in working with clients with spinal cord injuries and other complex high physical needs. This role will provide support to young client/s in Berry/Nowra, on a 1:1 basis.

Shifts include; 

• Skills of daily living such as self-care activities 
• Personal care activities such as bowel care, catheter care, medication assistance, meal preparation and manual handling tasks mainly transfers and shower assistance 
• Encourage independence and confidence by emphasizing on skill and capacity building and assisting with various programs.  
• Ensure all incidents, risks and hazards are identified and reported in timely manner.

For this role, the shifts are from 7am to 9am in the morning - 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and opportunity to increase the shifts in school holidays to longer shifts. Hourly payrate starts from $29.59 and penalty rates apply on weekends, public holidays, after 8pm and after 12 pm. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO HAVE?

You will need experience as a Disability Support Worker, delivering services to clients with complex physical needs.  You are a dedicated support worker with a genuine commitment to assist individuals reaching their goals and living their best life. You also need the following    

• Certificate III or IV in individual support, aged care or disability or an Allied Health qualification 
• Clear NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children, First Aid, CPR, valid driver's licence, registered & insured vehicle and the right to work in Australia 
• Valid Manual handling certificate 
• You will also have experience with complex bowel care, catheter care and using a hoist for manual handling. We can also provide training if required. 
• Experience working with clients with spinal cord injuries and other high physical support needs
