Your new role

Our Supported Independent Living unit in Geelong will welcome a client with high physical needs, requiring 2:1 support.

In this role, you will provide support to our client including personal care, manual handling and hoisting. You will have a positive and engaging manner and a great ability to build rapport with participants. Prior experience with trauma would be highly regarded. Experience with PEG feeding and 2:1 support is essential in this role.

 

For this role, we are looking for support workers with the following experience:

 

·         PEG feeding

·         2:1 support

·         Personal care

·         Manual handling and hoisting

 

What you will need to succeed

You will need experience as a Disability Support Worker, delivering services to clients with complex physical needs. You will also need to be creative in finding new activities to engage clients and build independence skills. You will also need to do some passive nights.

You are a dedicated support worker with a positive approach and a genuine commitment to assist individuals reaching their goals and living their best life. You also need the following current documents:

 

• Certificate III or IV in individual support or disability
• Valid NDIS Worker Check
• Valid Working with Children Check
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Valid Australian drivers licence and your own insured vehicle
