The Opportunity

To support our clients, Nextt has immediate opportunities across Newcastle. We are looking disability support workers for a wide variety of services like community access, activities of daily living and supported independent living. As a Nextt Support Worker you will be part of a successful purpose driven organization that is making a significant impact in the community. At Nextt, we are united by a common vision to support people with disability and/or mental health challenges to achieve their goals and to get more out of life.  The hours of work vary and include weekday shifts, evening and weekend shifts. 


About you

You are passionate about supporting our clients to reach their goals and work in a person-centered culture and you will have:

  • Compassion for people with disability and/or mental illness
  • Experience in supporting clients with complex behaviour support plans, cognitive disabilities, TBI/ABI, physical and verbal aggression, 24/7 care, personal care support
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Restrictive Practices, Manual Handling, Medication Management, Personal Care, Wound management, Complex behaviours and Bowel Therapy. 
  • Minimum of Cert III in Mental Health/Disability/Community Services/Individual Support/Nursing or above with minimum of 1 year of industry experience

What to expect?

  • Clear NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children and valid Australian Driver licence with reliable transport
  • Mobile phone with internet access
  • The right to work in Australia and Able to provide 100 points of ID 
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • In accordance with the Chief Health Officers COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Direction, candidates for this role a required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status as a condition of employment
