The Maintenance Supervisor - Inspections is responsible for the compliance, Inspection & maintenance of track infrastructure.

About the Role
Bowen Rail Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor – Inspections to join our Network team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager – Track & Civil, you are responsible for the compliance and safe delivery, efficient, and timely inspection & maintenance of track infrastructure on the Carmichael Rail Network.
- Promote and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, codes, and procedures.
- Provide consistent and effective supervision of rail safety workers, work groups including maintenance partners and suppliers.
- Coordinate in-field activities such as deliveries, toolbox briefings.
- Provide supervision to ensure all activities within the track Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP) are undertaken safely and to a high standard.
- Ensure road patrols and other track monitoring activities are conducted as required to meet Bowen Rail Company standards and to ensure the safety of train operations on the corridor. Produce prioritised defect lists in accordance with technical standards and corridor maintenance targets.
- Provide effective and efficient management of the workgroup's resources and activities to meet defined work programs and support the achievement of track availability and condition targets. Conduct audits of completed work, arrange emergency response and impose, modify, remove, review and report on speed restrictions as required.
- Undertake inspections to capture and record the condition of various track and related assets on the network.
- Provide scoping documents for maintenance activities based on inspection outcomes for maintenance teams to execute.
- Provide input into 1MTH, 3MTH, 6MTH, Long Term and Capital Works Planning

Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in rail maintenance/construction or related industry
- Hold relevant qualifications in rail examination and certification as a track maintainer.
- Current Open ‘C’ Class Australian Drivers Licence
- Qualified as a Rail Track Certifier.
- Hold relevant qualifications in Track inspections.
- SARC - Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited) or ability to obtain
- RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Identification) or ability to obtain
- Experience with coordinating site works across multiple locations.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance documents including, blueprints and drawings.
- Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and works.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise deadlines.
Desirable
- Hold relevant qualifications in rail safeworking as a Protection Officer.
- Qualified Operator for Road Rail Vehicles
- Tertiary qualified in a related discipline
- Relevant Certificate II and / or III in rail infrastructure
