About the Role
Bowen Rail Company is seeking a dynamic leader in Asset Management, Safety and Operations to join our team in Bowen.
Bowen Rail Company’s current above rail business comprises of over 150 staff operating and maintaining work class Rollingstock Assets. The Asset Management Principal will provide strong leadership and guidance to the operations team to ensure that the productivity, performance, safety compliance of our Rollingstock fleet is maintained to optimal standards.

- Oversee the efficient delivery of Technical Maintenance Plans and life cycle requirements for Asset Maintenance.
- Working collaboratively with peers in Maintenance Execution, Training, Rail Operations and Integrated Planning for combined operating success.
- A Leader who readily supports and adapts to change including contributing to initiatives and generating team ideas to continuously improve our reliability performance in Asset Management.
- Positively influences our work management master data integrity, ensuring data and strategies are maintained in accordance with SMS requirements, focusing on accuracy, quality and standardisation.
- Deliver operational readiness activities including, maintenance strategy review and development, spares assessments, CMMS builds, development of operations and maintenance procedures and more.
- Prepare, monitor and control delivery to the approved budgets, and make appropriate interventions where deviation occurs.
- Coordinate the implementation requirements for inventory including Bill of Materials, Critical Spares, Rotable and Service Exchange Components.
- Understands and is capable of adhering to and promoting legislative requirements for Rail Safety National Law and Regulations.

Essential
- SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited)
- 10+ years’ experience in an equivalent position
- Experience managing large teams in a live rail operations environment and /or equivalent
- Tertiary Degree (or equivalent trade) experience in Rollingstock
- Advanced knowledge of CMMS SAP Asset Management System
Desirable
- Graduate Diploma of Asset Management and Maintenance Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Reliability Engineering/Six-Sigma
- SAP Material Management System
