About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Network Team based in Bowen, in the beautiful Whitsundays. Reporting to the Network Operations Principal, you will be responsible for the framework that supports the Development, Qualifications, and ongoing Verification of Competency across our network teams.
This role is a Monday to Friday (5/2) roster based in the Bowen Office with required fieldwork includes travelling to the Carmichael Rail Network with periods requiring accommodation in remote locations.
- Safety Leadership.
- Facilitate the implementation and review of Network training documentation, including standards, procedures, and instructions to ensure company and legislative compliance.
- Drive improvement initiatives in training and compliance to Safety, Competency and Compliance requirements across Network teams.
- Responsible for the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Training and Competency Matrix, Training Needs Analysis to meet performance KPIs for the progression of the Network Team.
- Mentor, coach and support network qualified Trainer and Assessors.
- Coordinating the delivery of external training services including Registered Training Organisations for the development of schedules, training programs and contract management.
- The development and implementation of various Trainee program(s) in conjunction with the RTO to ensure a training and assessment program is effectively implemented and managed.
- Training leadership: influential in developing people and teams with positive engagement of Network Personnel for improved outcomes.
- Monitor effectiveness of existing training systems and procedures.
- Support investigations in a timely manner that delivers appropriate outcomes through accurate written reports to assist management with determinations.

Essential
- SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited) or ability to obtain
- RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Identification) or ability to obtain
- Current Open ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent experience) or ability to obtain
- 5+ years’ experience in an equivalent position
- Computer Proficient (Advanced Microsoft Office, systems)
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
Desirable
- Tertiary qualified in Bachelor of Education
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
- 5+ years’ experience in an equivalent position within Rail
