Full time opportunity for a primary teacher with a literacy specialty

FTE: 1.0FTE

Commencement: Fixed term contract: 21 July – 12 December 2025

Our extraordinary Year 6 learners are seeking an outstanding teacher to continue their diverse and challenging learning experience. This teaching position is full-time and is available from 21 July 2025, for Terms 3 and 4. Since this role includes teaching Year 7 English, the successful candidate will also be a literacy specialist.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • VIT registration;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications;
  • Current and broad knowledge of curriculum and effective pedagogy in their subject area, and which aligns with the Australian curriculum;
  • Literacy specialty;
  • Current knowledge of educational trends and schooling practices as they pertain to the role; and
  • Current knowledge of learning technologies in relation to the role and the delivery of the curriculum.

Fintona teachers seek out and implement new ideas and practices to enliven our students’ learning journey, provide meaningful pastoral care, are integral to student wellbeing and safety, and embed themselves in the ethos and life of the School.  This includes attending school wide events, excursions, and engaging in our camps (outdoor and adventure) program.
