About the Role
As a member of the People & Culture (P&C) team, this
key role will help provide professional human resources and workplace relations
guidance and support while upholding our social justice and
performance-oriented workforce and promoting a positive workplace culture that
values innovation, collaboration and wellbeing.
This role will share responsibility in developing best
practice P&C policy and generalist services to help the organisation
navigate the range of P&C support and advice that the team provide.
Identify and highlight initiatives to the senior members of
the P&C team that aim to position DS as an employer of choice and ensure
that the P&C function is an effective enabler of the overall organisational
success.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Provision of high-level support to stakeholder groups,
utilising P&C management information to assist and influence informed
business planning and decision making
- Provision of advice, guidance and operational support in
planning and implementing organisational change, local strategic initiatives
and programs of work
- Provision of advice based on the interpretation of a variety
of industrial awards, agreements, policies, procedures and legislation to
ensure a safe, productive and compliant workplace
- Develop new ideas and initiatives that improve overall
service performance, including being proactively involved in the delivery of
more efficient P&C consultancy services
- Contributes to or takes the lead in discreet local P&C
projects
- Builds and maintains effective, constructive relationships
with stakeholder groups, premised on service excellence culture.
- Provide informed workplace relations support and advice, providing
accurate P&C related information to line managers and staff
- Works in partnership with the P&C team to ensure a
cohesive and customer focused P&C services
- Accountable for contemporary advice on performance
management, disciplinary matters, as well other employee related legislation
- Administer Workcover matters in line with organisational
policies and procedures as well as government requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continually review HR processes to
ensure the enactment and achievement of the DS social justice Framework
- Learn, administer and update our HRIS, ensuring all employee
files are correct
- Ensuring an ethos of continuous learning and positive organisational
culture
