Insurance (Property/Construction) - Lawyer/Associate

The Role

A great career opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer or Associate to join our Insurance team in Sydney. In this role you will be working with leading Insurance lawyers across a range of litigation matters in the area of Property Insurance including complex indemnity disputes, liability and high value property recoveries, Professional Indemnity and General Insurance. Our team has been acknowledged for its leading position in the Australian market, working with most of the major insurers in Australia. In this role you will be working with Insurance lawyers who are independently recognised as experts in their field. 

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents
  • Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
  • Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally
  • Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion
  • Preparing court documents, including statements of evidence
  • Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners
  • Preparing for, managing online processes and appearing in Court
  • Briefing and liaising with counsel

Our practice is growing and we are looking for someone keen to expand their expertise and progress their career within a fun and supportive team environment.  

The ideal candidate will have between 1-6 years post admission experience, a professional approach and excellent communication skills, with a client service focus.  You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, display initiative, good attention to detail and a proven history of meeting deadlines. You will be able to manage smaller matters with minimal supervision in the Local and District Court and will be happy to work as part of a team on larger matters in the District, Supreme and Federal Courts.
