We are recruiting for a Water Services Manager to lead the team responsible for managing Council’s water, wastewater and stormwater assets and operational service delivery. This is a key leadership role within Council.

This is a busy role, responsible for meeting community needs, delivering safe, efficient and effective water services along with providing technical advice and managing activity budgets.   This role also ensures compliance with legislative requirements including resource consents, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholder, and contributing to the Government Three Waters Reform process.  This is a permanent, full-time role primarily based in our Thames Office

You will be required to provide strategic leadership for the sustainable long-term operation of these services and play a key role with Council’s participation in the nationally driven Drinking Water Reform process.  

You will be someone who thrives under pressure, an effective communicator, and have a personality that lets you develop strong collaborative working and coaching relationships. Along with experience working collaboratively with other activities such as Roading, Land Development, utility providers such as Telcos and Power, and Regional Councils you will also be familiar with relevant legislation e.g. Local Government and Resource Management Acts, as it applies to water services.

The successful candidate will have experience in

·         Infrastructure strategic planning

·         Asset management

·         Operational service delivery

·         Budget and contract management
