We are looking for an Estimator to join our New Construction team based in Port Melbourne.

ROLE OVERVIEW  

We are looking for an Estimator to join our New Construction team based in Port Melbourne.

Reporting to the General Manager - New Construction, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Measuring off drawings using ‘Bluebeam’ estimating software & Digitiser.
  • Analyse Specifications, finishes & door schedules, paint systems.
  • Pricing Bills of Quantities.
  • Conduct site inspections as required for assessment of site conditions and risks.
  • Prepare quotes and tender submissions for review within relevant timeframe.
  • Building relationships with Builders Estimating Depts and site teams.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication throughout the tender and operation process, through emails and other platforms including Aconex.
  • Working closely with the operations team from start-up handovers of estimating and scope details to pricing variations.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCES & PREFERENCES

  • The attention to detail required to carry out a complicated estimate combined with good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and patience in relation to creating an estimate. 
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Experience in the Finishes Construction industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Tertiary Degree Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying is desirable but not essential.
  • Candidates should have a neat and presentable appearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
