As a Developer Programmer (Spatial and GIS) you will be responsible for contributing to the development of custom spatial information systems and software. You will contribute to client proposals and development projects, as well as the maintenance and support of systems and software. The role will also support a major digital transformation project for the state government.

Spatial Vision are looking for a highly motivated Developer Programmer (Spatial and GIS) to join our expanding Enterprise Spatial Solutions team.

What you'll do:

As a Developer Programmer (Spatial and GIS), you will be responsible for:

• Developing, testing and delivering customised GIS software as part of spatial solutions for customers;
• Assisting in the implementation of enterprise spatial solution for customers by configuring and customising commercial and open source spatial, frameworks;
• Undertaking software development as part of a team using SV’s software engineering tools and standards including the Agile methodology, source control and continuous integration;
• Undertaking a wide range of supporting tasks including data management, data processing, requirements documentation and analysis and solution design;
• Assisting in the provision of a range of related services to customers including training, GIS software and data administrations, software support and maintenance and the development of technical and user documentation as required.

What you'll need:

• Experience with the design and implementation of spatial databases such as Esri geodatabases, PostgresSQL/PostGIS and SQL Server.
• Experience in software development languages including Python, Javascript and SQL (including spatial SQL).
• Experience in software development and implementation for mobile, desktop and web applications, particularly in a commercial GIS or statistical analysis context.
• Experience in developing spatial services including map and geo-processing services, both based on open standards and vendor offerings.
• Experience working in a small team environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Software Development or GIS, or equivalent experience.

Bonus if you have:

• At least 2 years of work experience in a similar GIS development role, working with ESRI or Open Source tools.
• Experience using Angular and cloud environments (AWS).
• Experience working in a commercial professional services environment.

We are hiring for a June/July start date.

Expected salary range for the position is $70,000 to $90,000 and is negotiable based on experience.
