Are you enthusiastic about helping people find their voice through innovative communication technology? We are seeking a Speech Pathologist with strong skills in complex Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to join our dynamic and supportive team.
In this role, you will work with clients who require a wide
range of AAC systems from direct access devices to more complex setups
involving switch access, eye gaze and customised mounting solutions. You will
collaborate with clients, families and support systems to design and implement
communication systems that truly make a change in people’s lives.
About the Role
·
Provide evidence-based assessment, intervention
and support for clients requiring complex AAC solutions.
·
Work with both direct access and alternative
access methods, including switches, eye gaze, head pointers and scanning
systems.
·
Configure and customise AAC devices, software and
mounting systems to meet individual client needs.
·
Collaborate closely with occupational
therapists, physiotherapists and support teams to ensure holistic care.
·
Deliver training and education to clients,
families and support staff on AAC use and maintenance.
·
Stay current with emerging AAC technologies and
approaches.
·
Engage with National Disability Insurance Scheme
participants and their support networks.
