The Role

This role provides exceptional leadership to enhance frontline services for the people we support and stakeholders, whilst ensuring we have the engaged people, quality services and enduring partnerships.

Working closely with the General Manager - Bright Futures, the Bright Futures Lead oversees program performance, supports staff capability and ensures young people receive trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate support that promotes stability, wellbeing and positive future pathways. Bright Futures is the service name for Outcare’s work with young people in Out of Home Care.

The role ensures services are delivered safely, consistently and in line with approved program frameworks, contractual requirements and organisational expectations. The Bright Futures Lead provides leadership, guidance and support to Team Leaders and specialist staff to enable high-quality service delivery for young people participating in the program.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology or relevant qualification or experience in Community Services or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading programs within youth, residential care or community services and experience supervising leaders and service delivery teams. This includes understanding and experience in the out-of-home care (OOHC) sector, including the importance of connection to family, and culture; and the application of relevant legislation and practices
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children, young people and families, including the ability to lead or embed culturally safe, trauma-transformative practice and partner effectively with Aboriginal families, community, and organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to program design, service innovation and strategic growth, including identifying system gaps and leading or supporting service expansion into new areas or priority communities
  •  Strong understanding of trauma-transformative and youth development practice.
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs including justice involvement, trauma or family instability.
  • Ability to manage contract deliverables, monitor service performance, and implement improvements.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
