Melior is a not-for-profit organisation that specialises exclusively in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We deliver high-quality services across a range of industries in WA, including NDIS, supported independent living, family homes, schools, hospital to home, youth justice and mental health, as well as undertaking psychometric assessments.

We’re currently seeking curious and collaborative people to join our team as a PBS Practitioner, with opportunities available for both experienced practitioners and those who have never undertaken the role! Everyone is welcome to apply!

What is PBS?

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a comprehensive person-centred approach that focuses on understanding a person’s needs, their environment, and the factors that influence their overall quality of life of concern when they do not have the words, skills, or tools to express what they need or what is happening for them.

Our PBS Practitioners work with people with disability, and the important people around them, using a person-centred approach grounded in evidence-based practice. They aim to understand why behaviours of concern may occur, teach skills that enhance a person’s quality of life, and support people to participate more fully in their relationships, school, work, leisure activities, and community.

What’s your day-to-day?

  • Teamwork: Collaborate with your clients, their families, allied health professionals, and support staff.
  • Innovation: Build capable environments that support your clients to achieve a high quality of life where they have choice and control.
  • Expertise: Help all stakeholders understand the person’s underlying needs that may be contributing to behaviours that pose a risk of harm.
  • Creativity: Address each client’s individual needs through strategies that work for them.
  • Administration: use the in-depth client knowledge you have obtained to build a comprehensive plan that supports them to live their best lives.
  • Learning: Hone your skills daily to ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Training and support: Receive, guidance support and supervision that exceeds all industry requirements!
