About Cahoots Adventure Camp

Located in Bullsbrook and surrounded by 13 hectares of bushland, Cahoots Adventure Camp provides a welcoming and inclusive camp environment for children, young people, adults and community groups. The campsite includes 130 beds across five pioneer accommodation huts and The Lodge, along with a kitchen, dining and activities hall, toilet and shower facilities, a pool, basketball court, BBQ area and wide-open grassy spaces. Campers take part in a range of outdoor, recreational and team-based activities designed to encourage connection, confidence and fun, with activities tailored to suit different ages, abilities and adventure levels.

About the Role

As a Camp Cook, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of Cahoots Adventure Camp by helping provide welcoming, well-organised and enjoyable mealtimes for campers, staff and guests. Working as part of the camp team, you’ll contribute to a safe and positive camp experience by preparing meals that support the needs of participants and help create a comfortable, inclusive environment.

This is a casual role, mainly working Monday to Friday during school terms, with occasional weekend work. Morning shifts are generally available from approximately 6.30am to 2.00pm, with afternoon shifts from approximately 2.00pm to 8.00pm. Additional hours may also be available through housekeeping shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals for campers and staff, considering dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills and refrigerators.
  • Coordinating mealtimes to ensure timely service aligned with camp schedules.
  • Cleaning and sanitising kitchen surfaces, utensils and appliances regularly.
  • Collaborating with camp management on menu planning, food budgeting and compliance with health regulations.
  • Assisting with special dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian or allergy-specific meals.
  • Supervising or coordinating kitchen staff in camp kitchen and dining operations.

About You

  • You enjoy hands-on work and take pride in creating a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
  • You are reliable, adaptable and comfortable working flexibility around camp schedules.
  • You communicate respectfully and work as well as part of a team.
  • You bring a positive, values-aligned approach and are motivated to contribute to inclusive camp experiences.
  • You can follow procedures and instructions accurately and consistently.
  • You have experience in food preparation, catering, hospitality or meal service (desirable)
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to acquire).
  • Current Police Check (or ability to acquire).
  • Current Driver’s License.
