About Cahoots Adventure Camp

Located in Bullsbrook and surrounded by 13 hectares of bushland, Cahoots Adventure Camp provides a welcoming and inclusive camp environment for children, young people, adults and community groups. The campsite includes 130 beds across five pioneer accommodation huts and The Lodge, along with a kitchen, dining and activities hall, toilet and shower facilities, a pool, basketball court, BBQ area and wide-open grassy spaces. Campers take part in a range of outdoor, recreational and team-based activities designed to encourage connection, confidence and fun, with activities tailored to suit different ages, abilities and adventure levels.

About the Role

As a Camp Kitchen Hand, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the camp kitchen and help ensure participants, staff and guests have a positive meal-time experience. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a team, takes pride in keeping things organised, and is comfortable working in a busy camp environment.

This is a casual role, mainly working Monday to Friday during school terms, with occasional weekend work. Morning shifts are generally available from approximately 6.30am to 2.00pm, with afternoon shifts from approximately 2.00pm to 8.00pm. Additional hours may also be available through housekeeping shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain hygiene of kitchen areas, including food prep surfaces, equipment, utensils and floors.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, glassware and kitchen tools using industrial or manual methods.
  • Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping and assembling ingredients.
  • Support cooks by fetching ingredients and helping with simple cooking tasks like heating or toasting food.
  • Manage waste disposal and keep work areas clear and safe.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation and health regulation at all times.

About You

  • You enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in being reliable, organized and part of a supportive team.
  • You may have experience in hospitality, food preparation, catering, cafes, restaurants, school camps or large-group meal service.
  • You align with Cahoots’ values of respect, trust, inspiration, collaboration and celebration and bring a positive attitude to the camp environment.
  • You are adaptable, mature and willing to contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming experience for participants, staff and guests.
  • You can follow procedures and instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to acquire).
  • Current Police Check (or ability to acquire).
  • Current Driver’s License.
