Payroll Officer

Burswood        SA - Salaried
  • Join a for-purpose group making real impact accross WA
  • Support accurate Payroll across diverse purpose-led services
  • Salary packaging benefits of up to $18,550 per annum

Use your payroll expertise to support accurate, timely and compliant payroll in a purpose-driven organisation.

We're for People.

We are PeopleKind

We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Officer to join our small but mighty Payroll Team based in Burswood.

This is a great opportunity to bring your payroll experience into a for-purpose organisation in an exciting phase of growth and improvement. You’ll support accurate, timely and compliant fortnightly payroll across a diverse group of subsidiaries delivering services in disability, housing, allied health, justice, child protection, reintegration and community support.

If you are accurate, reliable, detail-oriented and enjoy working as part of a capable team that supports one another, this role offers variety, purpose and the chance to contribute to payroll services that matter to people across our organisations.

About Us

PeopleKind Group is a for-purpose parent company bringing together specialist organisations that create positive impact across Western Australia. Drawing on more than 200 years of combined experience, we deliver services spanning disability, housing, allied health, justice, child protection, community support and more, helping people and communities thrive.

United by a shared vision, purpose and values and a genuine commitment to people, we are committed to a culture where people feel valued, included and empowered to make a positive difference.

About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll work across payroll transactions, employee data, award interpretation and application, reporting, compliance requirements and payroll enquiries, ensuring information is complete, accurate and handled with care.

What makes this role different is the breadth and purpose behind the work. You’ll support payroll across multiple subsidiaries, each with its own services, teams and operating context, giving you variety without losing connection.

The team is small and busy, particularly during the three-day pay run period, but works beautifully together with tasks shared evenly and a strong commitment to helping each other deliver quality outcomes. They are also very well known in our office for their love of laughter!

About You

You will be an experienced payroll professional who takes pride in accuracy, reliability and getting the detail right. You’ll bring sound knowledge of Australian payroll requirements, experience working with payroll and HRIS systems, and the judgement to identify discrepancies, ask the right questions and escalate matters when needed.

Experience interpreting modern awards is important, and experience with the SCHADS Award and/or AMER Award in the community services, disability, aged care or not-for-profit sector would be highly regarded.

Just as important as your technical skills will be the way you work. You’ll be a genuine team player who communicates clearly, follows through on commitments and can be counted on during busy periods. Above all, you will reflect our values in the way you work and connect with others, and be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a for-purpose group making a positive impact across Western Australia.

We’re for People, and that starts with our people…

  • Work in an environment where our people tell us they feel supported, connected to our purpose, and trusted to work in ways that suit their role, their team and their life
  • Work with leaders who see people (not employees) who will value your contribution, fresh ideas and shared success.
  • Opportunities to grow your career, build capability and explore pathways across the entire Group.
  • Salary packaging benefits to reduce your taxable income by up to $18,550 per annum.
  • Free onsite parking, annual leave loading, superannuation co-contributions, purchased leave and access to our Employee Assistance Program.

Ready to contribute to something bigger?

If this opportunity sounds like the right fit, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a short Cover Letter outlining your interest in the role and what you would bring to PeopleKind Group.
