Use your training skills to develop confident, capable disability support workers in a values-driven not-for-profit.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Learning and Development, the Trainer and Assessor will develop and deliver training and competency assessments for employees, providing day to day support to people with disability.

Working closely with Nulsen's nursing, Learning and Development and operational teams, you will ensure training is practical, contemporary and relevant to the needs of employees and the people we support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering engaging sector related training for frontline employees, including facilitation hands-on activities such as simulations, role-plays, and case studies.
  • Conducting assessments to ensure employees meet competency requirements.
  • Providing clear and constructive feedback, remedial training and skills development where required.
  • Reviewing and maintaining disability-related training materials working collaboratively within a small team.
  • Consulting with managers and clinical stakeholders to ensure training meets operational and participant needs.
  • Maintaining accurate training, assessment and competency records, supporting internal and external audit activities.
  • Ensuring training and assessment materials comply with relevant standards, legislation and codes of practice.
  • Monitoring online learning systems and employee clinical competencies.
  • Keeping industry knowledge and training content aligned with contemporary best practice.

About You

You will be a confident and approachable trainer/assessor who can translate industry knowledge and experience into practical learning for employees working in disability services. To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering training and conducting competency assessments.
  • Experience in disability, community services or another relevant care environment.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
  • The ability to develop clear and practical training programs and resources.
  • Strong written, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.
  • A current Australian driver's licence.
  • A current first aid qualification, or the ability to obtain one.
  • A current or obtainable NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for work related travel

Desirable

  • A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a higher relevant qualification.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Experience in developing eLearning content and using learning management systems.
  • Experience in facilitating learning and development programs that promote trauma-informed approaches, cultural safety, equity, diversity, inclusion, and an understanding of identity and discrimination in disability services.
