Nulsen is looking for a Participant Engagement Coordinator to join our team within the Participant Engagement Department (PED). The PED Coordinator will provide high level funding support to Residential Service Managers (RSMs), Accommodation Managers (AMs) and to our residents and their families.

About the Role

In this role, you will assist participants, and their families with their scheduled and unscheduled plan reviews to support them to achieve their goals and vision of a good life. The Participant Engagement Department is also the first point of contact and plays a key part in supporting people to access Supported Independent Living and Therapy Services with Nulsen (intake).

Nulsen has a strong Person-Centred approach and Framework in place for the people we support. You will work closely with a broad network of people to ensure that Nulsen Residents and their families/guardians are supported to achieve the best outcomes as part of their funding plan review process. To achieve this, you will liaise with Participants and their families, RSMs, AMs, the relevant funding provider (e.g. NDIS, DSOA, ICWA, TIO, CPFS), Support Coordinators, Therapists, Clinicians, PBS Practitioners etc, all to ensure appropriate supports are identified and considered in their funding plan and are well evidenced.

You may make suggestions for; gathering of further evidence and changes to recommended supports/hours, to ensure cohesion in funding negotiations.

  • You will have the ability to facilitate and negotiate funding with the relevant funding provider
  • You will be able to advocate, build, and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including External Service Providers, Support Coordinators and NDIS Planners
  • You will have a sound understanding of Person-Centred Planning and its ideology

What you'll need:

  • A good understanding of the NDIS framework and legislation
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with experience in report writing and funding submissions.
  • Experience in case coordination in a service delivery environment, working with people with disabilities and engaging with their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong values and knowledge of the rights of people with disabilities; the concepts of social role valorisation, and quality of life. This includes thorough knowledge of the National Standards for Disability Services.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or independently as the situation requires

Desirable:

  • A Diploma in Community Services, or other relevant qualification in human services.

Other Employment Requirements: 

  • Must hold Australian Citizenship, or be a permanent resident of Australia
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • A National Police Clearance, or be willing to obtain one through our preferred provider
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of Covid-19 Vaccination
